What Does a Chiropractor Treat?

It can be hard to accept, but no matter what way we spin it, we all put our bodies on the line for our work. Our bodies have the ability to move in many complex ways throughout our day, but few people actually use those movements often. If we only move our bodies in a few specific ways, which we all are prone to do, we get very good at those movements but progressively worse at the movements we avoid.

How does your work affect how your body feels? Maybe it’s your responsibilities at home, or maybe the way you spend your weekends!

How Work & Lifestyle Impact Your Body's Health

Long-Term Pain Relief & Prevention

For many people like you, chiropractic is a last-ditch effort to get rid of the pains that are nagging them. Pills, injections, and surgeries work for many people with no issues or complications, but for others that treatment style proves ineffective or worse. Chiropractic handles the classic big three issues – headache, neck pain, low back pain – differently than most medical management. Manual and noninvasive, chiropractic can be more than that last-ditch effort to get rid of your pain. Chiropractic care has proven to be that effective method of decreasing the amount of pain you’re feeling on an everyday basis and keep you out of pain. Or maybe the pain comes on only when doing certain actions. Either way, I want you to be able to complete your normal everyday tasks without the issues that this nagging pain creates.

Once you receive a course of chiropractic care and see your pain levels tanking downward, it will all make sense. Solving those painful problems is my specialty, but I hope to impart the wisdom that prevention is the best way to treat the body.

Headache

Do you know what causes your headaches?

There can be so many triggers to these painful issues but so few things that actually help. There are many different types of headaches, and only a few of them are totally explainable by our current understanding of the body and brain.

It’s important to know a few basic things about your headache: what time of day they come on, how long they last, what helps them feel better and what makes them worse. We can get headaches from too much screen time, or the specific way we move our head, or it can be something totally different that requires blood tests and scans to rule out anything scary. The hardest question to answer is what actually causes them, because this is different for every single individual.

In the office, I will determine a working diagnosis once I’ve ruled out any medical explanations for your headache (such as hypertension, medications/caffeine, or trauma), along with a few healthcare tips. We will run a trial intervention of chiropractic care and go from there. It may take a while to see progress or find your triggers, but odds are these headaches won’t get better on their own.

You’re looking in the right place for help.

Neck Pain

Have you identified the source of your neck pain?

We live in a world with exciting things all around us. Sometimes those things are beautiful flowers, or our kiddo’s sports game, or the oceanfront on vacation. Other times they’re less interesting, like looking from screen to screen working on your project at work, or the 8x8 hole you’re threading ductwork through, or the long hypnotic repetition of white lines and passing cars on the road.

Your pain doesn’t have to be constant to be worthy of care; the presentation of neck pain could be from many different sources. Muscles, ligaments, and tendons in your neck, shoulder, and upper back may be working out of sync causing discomfort throughout the day. Or the nerves may be impacted causing errant pain signals to reach your brain.

A herniated disc in the neck can be the source of extreme pain, or it could simply cause discomfort when you turn your head a certain way.

Regardless, it affects your day in a negative way and chiropractic management is the right place to start.

Low Back Pain

What’s the underlying cause of your lower back pain ?

Your low back pain is a special flavor of pain that is unique to you. Sure, up to 80% of the people in the entire world likely experience serious back pain at some point in their lives, but that just makes for 6.5 billion people with their own stories of how it came on, how long it lasted, and how they got rid of it.

Chiropractic is proven to be an effective method of treating most non-traumatic causes of low back pain (LBP). There’s a long list of things that can cause LBP, and I work hard to rule out any medical causes that require management in the form of medications or surgery. But oftentimes, especially if traditional medical management has not helped you, the solution can be found through chiropractic.

I can help your body move on a joint-by-joint level to ensure proper range of motion to help get you out of pain. That’s our first goal, but I also want to make sure you are able to move your body functionally so that the pain doesn’t come back.

We can make some serious progress on this issue if we work together.
